I do think the initial stuff like that is not intended to be serious. I'm thinking Ls ask for the moon and then at some point have to come back down to earth and reality and all that and negotiate more seriously. In the intial paperwork from my H's L, he not only said he wanted full custody of the kids (bwa ha ha ha), to pay me a stay-at home mom no child custody or alimony, and I think I was even supposed to pay him child custody! (I don't have a job yet). I have to assume that was a joke and H didn't seriously think that was going to fly???? Karen
It seems really difficult to know what they consider serious, viable options since their day-to-day lives are so delusional to begin with. I do know I felt absolutely insulted by this. I mean, he makes twice what I make, he's not been terribly interested in seeing D all summer, and now he wants to share custody and I'm supposed to pay 75% of all joint expenses although I make ~35% of combined income. But I suppose it's no more ridiculous than any of his other expectations.

Sigh. I miss working in the parish. One of my favorite ladies broke her hip over the weekend, another one got sick over the past couple of days and died last night.

Okay, I talked with my L this afternoon. My hearing has been continued (postponed) until Dec. 15! That's a long way off. As far as emergency support, we'll deal with that lawyer to lawyer, and he pointed out that the more H acts like a poopyhead now the worse it will go in court for him. Sounds good to me. So he will remind H's lawyer to remind H of that. And I have a meeting with L next week in preparation for the December hearing, putting out my proposal. I can't wait.
