The Lions looked pathetic, as usual. They woke up and made a good attempt at a come back, but it was too late. At least they only lost by 7 points and not the 21 they were behind for most of the game.
My pies were good. H was very happy with them and gave a couple of nice compliments. He said that I nailed the Key Lime, which is his ultimate compliment. I put a piece in his lunch today. Hope he thinks good thoughts of me when he eats it.
My H has not shown much real interest around our house for about a year. He has always been a stickler about our lawn. I am not even allowed to mow the grass, which has never really bothered me because we have always done the yard work together. While he is mowing he likes me to also be outside and so I usually work in my flower beds, pick up sticks or fill the bird feeders etc.
He is frustrated right now because the contractor that we hired to do some flat work is about 3 weeks behind and H is getting concerned that we won't get it done before the snow flies. Not a good thing. We could find another contractor, but we really like what this guys proposed and so will just have to wait for him.
Lots of people around our area are mowing less of their property this year because of high gas prices. Our neighbor used to mow about 4 acres of lawn, now it's only about 1 acre, and they let the rest grow up. We mow about 2 around the house and barn. Our mower is a zero clearance mower with levers and no steering wheel. I think I've driven it once or twice, and never at this house. We have lots of hills and valleys and a steep ditch. A couple of times this year H did not mow because he was up north golfing and partying with his buddies. When he did come home and finally mowed the grass was so thick that it had to be raked and then mowed again. Guess who got to do the raking? I didn't think that was very fair. But oh well.
Most of us are about as happy as we make up our minds to be.
