Yes, I love my Dyson, too. I was gonna buy it at Kohl's or Target but then saw a model on sale at Costco (which is a shopping club, like Sam's Club) and it was $100 cheaper.
I don't know if it is really "worth it", but I have bought a bunch of vaccums in my day and most of them stink. They beat the carpet and raise all this dust - if you vacuum during a sunny day (not recommended, get yer butt outside and play!) you see this cloud of dust trailing around with the vacuum. The Dyson doesn't do that. It has a seal around the spindle so that it sucks better. And it gets the edges, where other vacuums don't.
I appreciate the design of the Dyson - it is well put together. The controls feel right. It doesn't feel cheap. It's easy and clean to empty the dustbin. The attachments work.
Is a Mercedes Benz "worth it"? Well, it's not worth it to me, because I cannot afford a Mercedes, but they are very well designed cars. I can appreciate them. And the Dyson is like that, to me. It's my Mercedes! (When I am not fantasizing, I drive a 10-yr old volvo)
Hoozh, this made me laugh:
