Yeah....SPM....I've been kicked a lot. A long time ago, we put two small circular photos of us on our son's frame on the mantle over the fireplace. Each was a black and white photo of us when we were toddlers and each only about 1-2" wide. Mine was taken off and tossed in the matchstick holder sometime in the last week. I took mine off and replaced it....separately from hers. If it comes down again, I'll just take it and save it somewhere.
This is one thing I have in similar with frank_d right now...I am a nonentity...a POS....vile and disgusting....now worth leaving far behind in the dust.

Me: XXX....please, don't leave 'Fido' outside anymore. The weather is getting cold and now our neighbors are beginning to complain (greyhounds don't usually bark but he is now 12 and wants to come in). He is not an outside dog....and he was left out in 48 degrees the other night and was wimpering. (we were out east..she came home at 6PM from work, let him out and left him out there. My sis called me at 10:45PM that he was outside and crying).
(pause of silence)
W: Oh..and...BTW....'Fido' always has to go out at 4 in the morning....that's YOUR REPSONSIBILITY
Me: What are you talking about XXX? This is OUR DOG..it belongs to S8, D5.....you're responsible for him as well...
W: Oh..how convenient for you....
Me: XXX...we should share....(XXX starts raising her voice at me)
For the first time....I hung up on her. I just couldn't take the yelling and S8 was in the back of the car and started crying:
S8: Daddy...I don't want you and mommy to get a divorce....(cries heavily)
It just hurts too much. My W...is ...GONE. I don't recognize her anymore.

You made an effort. You tried to address an issue with your wife. It didn't work. Chances are it will never work until she is gone and begins to experience life on her own.
So take care of Fido.
Once again the load falls to you. I know it gets heavy, but this is what we do when we choose to be men of character. You know as well as I do that as fathers we would move mountains for our children. Well that's where you're at my friend.
Be their hero.
Sometimes you have to take a stand. Continue to hold fast to what you believe is right, but refuse to allow it to become an argument. Hanging up was right. Walking away is also right. Say your peace, IN PEACE, and walk away if it is not received in peace.
And hug your son and daughter.
