last night i saw a woman in the grocery store, attractive in a self-confident way, dressed only for comfort, riding her cart down the aisle like a young child riding a skooter. she looked so carefree and uninhibited in her happiness. made me smile.

I have to agree with M. It definitely made me chuckle. I'm glad you liked the poem. I wrote it after the D was over and I realized I was ok and actually better than I was before.

Have a great weekend.

John..

Thank you for your concern. She was fine at school and participated in a swim meet where she had two best times and met a challenge set by her coach.

What a difference.. from upset and nervous in the AM to animated, enthusiastic and triumphant in the PM.

A friend keeps telling me.. talk to men, talk to men, talk to men... smell pretty, look good, learn their names, learn about them, talk to men (but don't let them know you're practicing!).

It's great listening to you dashing men feel so confident around women. I'm taking notes.

Ya know Mike..

When you're nervous you twang and drawl..

When you're comfortable you just have a very nice voice.

HFGW..

Did you see the write up for 'A Man off All Seasons' in Wednesday's NY Times? I thought of you. I think it's even discounted in some places. It's going on the list of must sees.

Hey TwinDragon..

Perhaps part of my charm is inadvertent innuendoes I have to extricate myself from.

Writing can be a great release. I was given a sketch pad and told to draw whatever I wanted but to be sure to include anger. The counselor wanted me to get outside of my comfort zone to see what came out. It's amazing how much all aspects of our abilities work to help me cope when tapped.

Hey lovely lady l..

Maybe instead of a grocery store, I should go to a 'man' place and look confused.

How am I? I hate this (as usual). I'm appalled he drained an account and won't pay for our son's room and board when he has the cash. I recently felt like I could start to initiate a conversation with him and then that happens and I shut down.

Ugh..

I've been busy though with my mom in town. My brother will be staying here til Saturday and my parents will be in the area from Tuesday til Saturday. I took my mom up to see my sons at college (they go to the same university). They had different schedules and each wanted lunch. My mom and I ate very lightly at both lunches and had a good time. Then it was on to an evening swim meet in another part of the state.

It was a day of a lot of activity, zounds of driving and positive energy.

Today I was taking the minivan out to drop off bags for Goodwill only to find I had a flat tire. I went to go change it and got the spare out (it's between the front and back seats). I remembered the tools/jack were buried under 10 heavy oversized contractor's bags full of donations I figured it was AAA time!

*hugs*

This happens to me. But I try SO hard to not shut down. Usually what is happening and what *actually* upset me are 2 different things. Hard to separate sometimes.

At times though, shutting myself off from H is what I need. Kinda like a bandaid, protecting my wound until it heals up again.

HUGS!
