The old house is in limbo. Housing prices have not plummeted in these parts, but the market is quite sluggish. My job, though, is pretty recession-proof and no matter what the stock market does, my salary doesn't change. So I can weather 2 mortgages for a while. Not desirable, but doable.
W has found out that her friend, the enabler, continues to be friendly with XOM. She has even asked XOM to help her move in a couple of weeks. W is beginning to realize that FtE has no consideration for her, and is quite self-absorbed. FtE fits the profile of someone jumping from R to R as the initial intensity wears off and nurturing a mature R becomes necessary. She continues to try to undermine our M because of some underlying resentment that we have actually been able to deal with our problems in a mature and constructive way. I think XOM continues that friendship to keep tabs on W. It was good to hear W say that she was getting sick of FtE and is thinking about ending their friendship.

Plans are set, financing is in the works. The builder is willing to start the foundation even before we close on the loan. So it looks like we will own a very expensive hole in the ground some time in the couple of weeks. Yes!
W continues to fight with her friend about reconciling with me and her friend's continued contact with XOM. I am simply trying to stay supportive. As much as I resent her friend's actions regarding our M, I don't see any point in trash talking her. I suspect their friendship has a poor prognosis anyway.
Last night we talked a lot about the situation that made her vulnerable to her A, and both of our contributions to the near-death of our M. We have both done a lot of growing up through all this. I am growing more confident each day neither of us will fall back into those destructive patterns. After our talk we ML, felt wonderful, slept like a baby.

SD8's father's girlfriend has a friend who is now dating... guess who... XOM!! W and I think it is too much of a coincidence, and that XOM is trying to establish another avenue to keep tabs on us. W has asked SD8's father to not allow SD8 to have any contact with XOM. We both think it is kind of creepy and if he tries to contact/interact with SD8, we should try to get a restraining order against him.
Got an offer on the old house yesterday! We also finalized the contract with the builder. Some sort of karma, it seems. They will be breaking ground this week. We are really excited.
