I'm glad to hear that your dad came through the surgery. I will pray that his stay in ICU will be short and they will be able to move him to a regular room soon.
Your brother is being a pessimist so that when the best happens he will feel relief. I understand that all too well as that is my own personality. Trust me, you are right, he is secretly hoping for the best.
Hold on to your mom now. She needs your strength. I know it's hard to give when you don't have anyone close holding you up but if you close your eyes you can picture all of us, your cyber friends, holding you tightly and loving you with every last ounce of our own strength.
