I'm back from my long awaited hols to Barcelona,Spain, as you may know the planned romantic break for two turned into a family holiday for three. For those that are interested there was no nudge, nudge, W monthly cycle and a very vigilante D7 put paid to that, but that didn't stop us all having a very, very, very good time together.
W and I got on fine all of the time, but she did have a few upper class "Brit abroad" moments, mainly aimed at incompetent waiters, or dozy sales assistants, classic moment was W saying "These Spanish are lovely people but they need to learnt to speak a bit more English".
W was impressed with my grasp of the language which actually only extended to Hola, Gracias, Adios, Uno Grande Beer, Uno XL T-shirt. Also some international sign language, hand firmly out to stop the on coming traffic, middle finger up at the impatient drivers who beeped their horns when not wanting to stop.
So all in all it was a fun trip, so much to see, not enough time to do it, definately a city to return to. Next year W wants to venture to Rome, Italy (on a budget) I'm up for that, but for now back to reality.
