W and the kids went to a water park today, I stayed here and got a little work done. It was pretty cool, compared to what it has been, I could have gone, but really wasn't interested.
Anyway, they also went shopping, so I didn't know when they were going to get home, so around 6:30 I took a shower and got myself ready to go. I figured at worst, I would be gone when they got here, and I'd show up later looking sharp (for me!). They got here around 7:00, just as I was finishing getting ready to leave. One of the kids said, "you're all dressed up!", I kind of brushed it off. But I was wearing the new long sleeved shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, and the brand new jeans. And my casual shoes rather than my tennis shoes. So, I did look different. I had splashed on a bit of cologne, too, don't know if I got close enough to W for her to tell or not. I said I was going shopping, and to get something to eat. She said, "It's 7:00 o'clock!" I just shrugged my shoulders. She then said, "Have fun!" I think I said I would.
I sent to "town", and tried to decide where to eat. My original target was Friday's but it looked pretty crowded, so I ended up at the Texas Roadhouse. Had a little fun with the waitress, and a nice (but not too big!) steak. Probably ate more bread than I should have. But, on the whole, I think I kept it under control. By then it was a little late to really shop, so I drove a bit, and listened to the end of the Dodger/Cub baseball game. I made sure I got home a little more than 3 hours after I left. S10 said..."Where have YOU been?" I said I went shopping, and eating, but I didn't buy anything. W asked what I was shopping for, I said shoes, but I didn't find any thing I liked. (That would have been what I was looking for.) My shoes are in need of replacement. Anyway, W then gave a suggesting for a shoe store I could check next time! I stood close to her as she was looking it up on her computer, so I hope she smelled something! Maybe I should get some perfume to add while I'm out, just to make the smells more interesting!
Anyway, I think the curiosity may have been aroused. I was definitely dressed differently than usual. And I think there was some mystery involved.
Tomorrow, W works. I hope to golf, and clean. Also, I hope to take the kids to the driving range to try out the first of the clubs we made!
I IM'ed with S20 a little this morning. They were supposed to have left already, but the word was there was a plane breakdown, so they are supposed to leave Monday morning. The bad thing is that they may get stuck in Camp Lejuene for the weekend, since they have to get their stuff turned in, and there will be a 4 day shutdown for the holiday weekend. (Someone still celebrates Columbus day!) So, he might not get here Friday. We shall see.
I did get W's orange tree into its pot, finally. That should help the patio look a bit better.
Good Job Jeff, I loved it. I am sure she is wondering... I would love to read her mind and see what she is thinking... And you sound like you are happy you did it. I would be too. I hope she is not reading this forum... Love K
Jeff, Wow, well done, you did an amazing job! The timing, the outfit, the cologne, the length of time yuo went out,. you played her like an old piano and I agree with Kalni, she must have been thiking surely??? What man dresses up on a Saturday night to go shopping for shoes till 10pm !!???? Also, I am guessing it might have been kind of nice for you to go out and treat yourself to a steak? Well done for driving around for 3 huors too. I'm so glad that yuo did this thing and it would be interesting to see if yuo can spot ANY subtle differences in her demeanour toward yuo today or this week...really pay attntion and report back to us!

Yes, I think it went about as well as it could have gone!
I played golf Friday, took S10 with me to drive the cart. I looked liked I'd never played! After I would hit, I'd look at S10, and his head would be down, and shaking back and forth! Took the guys to the range to try their new clubs today, and I wasn't any better! S13, on the other hand, appears to have some aptitude! S10, was struggling a bit more. But they both had a blast.
This evening the little guys and I went to Pizza Hut for dinner. We left the house about the time W could be leaving work, so we texted her and invited her to join us. She called about the time we ordered, so we told the waitress to hold the order for a bit, and W ate with us. The four of us had a pretty pleasant dinner together. So that was nice, too.
