Just a quick note to say the party went great!!! Michelle can vouch for me that I did in fact have fun. I soooo wanted to dance more, but I did get out there some - just had to hug the wall so no one stepped on/leaned on me. And surprisingly enough I woke up with my ankle hurting LESS than it did when the party started. WOO HOO!

Had a very long, hung-over day... \:\) but worth it and fun. And the house is almost clean-ish.

I was proud of myself too. Usually I wimp out and fall asleep early. Last night H passed out in the backyard at about 12:30 while I made it til 4:30! (yes.. A.M.!)

At one point later in the night (Michelle I think you'd left by then?) I broke out my bellydancing coin scarves. I thought it was HILARIOUS how much the guys were into the bellydancing!! Oh no.. not into watching the GIRLS bellydancing... into wearing the coins themselves and learning how to shimmy!! One guy then decided the skirt made a really great "hat" and wrapped it around his head then danced all crazy. The rest of us sat on the patio and laughed for about an hour while he danced with a pink coin scarf on his head (in between posing with him for photos!). I am trying to figure out some way to post video, you really had to be there. \:\) I taped part of it for H (he was out cold by this time) and he watched it over and over today going "Ohh man, I missed out!"

We already decided to have a New Year's party, too... H is talking about "we have to start the invites this week so people can plan!" Very cool. I love that he wants to plan stuff ahead. And of course, anyone near Sac is of course invited... Michelle will either encourage you to come or warn you to stay far far away... ;\)

LMAO

Yes, I was gone by the time the bellydancing stuff came out - I saw the pics you posted though! OMG, that sounds hysterical! I will have to see the video at some point. Maybe you can play it at the New Year's Party! ;\) Sounds like I know where I'm coming to hang out that night!

And for reference...the pic I saw of the guy with it on his head...the scarf was PINK! ROTF LMAO.

(((Nikki)))

Thanks for having me over!

((Michelle))

So glad you came! New Years too? Sweet! Gotta stay for the bellydance gear this time ;\) . Actually it was so popular I thought about buying a few more belly-scarves!

I tried to post pics and video in the "alt universe" - hopefully it works. The video is WAY dark but I brightened it up as much as I could. I had forgotten another video I took... I'm not sure which is funnier, big dude dancing to "Gold Digger" with a pink scarf on his head, or Paris Hilton look-alike saying "You need a pole in here!" (she really is a sweet girl but that totally cracked me up)

And yes.. the scarf is not only pink... it's hot pink.. velvet.. with gold coins!! Oh my...

So glad you made it Michelle, it was fun!

Hmm I have Vista...but haven't played with that since I don't live with anyone who'll be on my computer w/o asking. I should play with it more though, so if I figure it out I'll let you know!

Cool, thanks Michelle! Vista is very strange.

On a totally other and very sad note - if anyone who reads my thread regularly could go drop a few kind words to JeninVen that would be wonderful. Her H was shot and killed last night. I can't even imagine the agony of that in the middle of everything else. I don't think she's reading the boards right now, but I know that all those thoughts, prayers, and hugs make a difference... and the posts will be there for her when she returns.

Here's her thread:

And another one someone started for her in case it locks:
