FIB,

I guess that depends on the vantage point which you look from.

More rain in Seattle though... I enjoy both.

George Carlin on aging!
(Absolutely Brilliant)

George Carlin's Views on Aging< /SPAN>

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old
is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited
about aging that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a
half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the
next number, or even a few ahead.

'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're
gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life ! You become 21.
Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like
bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're
Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the
brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and
your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a
day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch;
you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the
90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a
little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half !'
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the
devil's workshop.'
4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who
is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable,
improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt t rips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next
county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them , at every opportunity.

AND A LWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the
moments that take our breath away.

For all you Olympics Fans.....

Bad verbiage from the Olympic commentators
Here are the top nine comments made by NBC sports commentators so far during the Summer Olympics that they would like to take back:

1. Weightlifting commentator: 'This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing.'

2. Dressage commentator: 'This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother.'

3. Paul Hamm, Gymnast: 'I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father.'

4. Boxing Analyst: 'Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious.'

5. Softball announcer: 'If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again.'

6. Basketball analyst: 'He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces.'

7. At the rowing medal ceremony: 'Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew.'

8. Soccer commentator: 'Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field.'

9. Tennis commentator: 'One of the reasons Andy is playing so well is that, before the final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them... Oh my God, what have I just said?

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates
recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not
learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created
a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for
failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to
accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a
vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a
different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your
mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They
got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk
about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the
parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In
some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES
as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to
ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few
employers are interested in helping you F IND YOU RS ELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the
coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you can read this - Thank a teacher!

If you're reading this in English- Thank a Veteran!

Well hello there FIB, I havn't been around much lately.

I guess that's good. (cough)

A lot of the same drama with the R's, but hey, i'm use to it!

If there's one thing that i've learned and keep getting tested on it's biting my tongue.

As a general rule the battles that truly need fighting are few and far between.

Not to send anyone into a tailspin, but some of these work out and some don't.

Others move sideways... like myself.

A former poster friend has been kicked in the teeth with his D, while another is back with his wife. The latter did most everything wrong while the first was the poster child for DBing.

Life is definately unpredictable!!

I'm happy most of the time, frustrated some of the time, and in Gods hands all the time!!

Great post. You KNOW you always have my support. I seem to be 'the latter'. Poster boy for DB'ing..loving my W..and trying to fix a broken M. Now, getting kicked in the teeth.

I was in a lose-lose situation. Stay...and get lied to and cheated on. File...and get treated worse. FIB

I seem to get myself back to square 1 all to often.

The GF and I have been looking at houses together but I have a nagging trust issue. It may be justified and maybe not but what it does do is ruin the relationship.

So here I sit with that broken feeling again...

I carry way to much of the past with me, gotta change that!
