Hee at the lice being happy!!! That's about it, huh?

I am glad you can make some connections with the kiddos. They might not show it but they seriously value your opinion and input. Its great that you are so open to connecting.

There is lice at my D's school too!! Eeek!! Its that time of year.

Well, it was all because one of the teachers walked into the office mid-afternoon and used the Q-word! Anyone who's ever worked in emergency services knows that you NEVER say "it's so quiet."

HM, You have me smiling already this morning. I love your sense of humor. I even pictured happy head lice!

I guess most parents go thru it. Our experience was when our oldest S was about 8 or 9. It was mid August, and H had him in the tub. Our boys are both very blonde, and the oldest, when you wet his head his hair just disappears. H poured water on his head in prep to shampoo it, and voila!....you could see bugs everywhere!

Now H and I had never had delt with lice before, so we called a neighbor on the phone to come over and look. She was an older, trusted family friend with 2 older boys of her own. So, picture this...three adults huddled around the naked and dripping 9 year old, trying not to be freaked out, but also trying not to scare the child either. Lice were not a real common problem in our area, and this child happens to be a germ-a-phobe. \:\)

The diagnosis was lice, and I was off to the grocery store to try and discreetly buy someting to get rid of the problem. It was 10:30 at night, and it also happened to be H's and my wedding anniversary!

Some memories are just to good to forget \:\)

EEEEEEEEEEwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I would have freaked out! So far, knock on wood, we haven't had to deal with it; D has hair she can almost sit on, and lots of it, and is very tender-headed.

Saw some of these girls again this morning. Two still had 'em, all had nits. What is up with these parents??!!

I don't know. It beats all logic.

I'd place a bet that these moms are the same type of women that think it's ok to have a R with a M man!

...or somethin'! Chaotic lives. Never learned how to live otherwise. And it looks like their children are headed down the same path. Lovely, sharp little girls, too.

Oh, I understand. But there are alternative methods, and I sent home that information with the children yesterday. There are reasons, and then there are excuses. I just know that if my child had lice I'd shave her head if necessary! But then, that's just me....
