We meet a builder this afternoon to go over details of a potential new home. I'm really excited, but at the same time nervous. The separation and near-D took a toll on finances and cash flow is a bit of an issue. But the banks were not reluctant to OK a construction loan - I thought they might be because of the recent bank turbulence. Also never built a house, and everyone seems to have a story about how this or that didn't go right.
In some ways, it is also strange, since it has only been a couple of months that W and I have been back together. But our R feels strong and we are dealing with the collateral affects of the S constructively. What a year. I think it was about this time last year that W started her R with XOM. She is doing everything she can to reinforce her commitment to our M, though I admit "thoughts" of them still creep into my brain. But I get all sorts of affection, affirmation, reassurance of her love for me, and our sex life is fantastic.
Living vicariously? Today's text exchange (W was going to the gym to work out)...

I am glad that the bank is working with you guys. Sounds like things are moving along nicely. So, what are you looking at, potentially, for the new house? How many bedrooms, baths, general layout? Spill it I want details--of the house not the other that is just TMI!

But the stats are 4BR 2.5BA pretty open floor plan but not really bigger than the old place. Just arranged better. Talked with the builder we are probably going to use - it's starting to feel real to me and I'm getting excited about the new place.
I have a meeting in Boston this weekend. So W and I get a weekend alone in the big city. We are planning to see the Red Sox beat the Yankees Friday, if we don't get rained out.
