My day today..

Took the walk with my 2x4 pal, once again savoring the sunlight and breeze that fluttered through the leaves, some with the crimson of fall. I love a deep blue sky, the color so clear it cleanses the soul.

While standing in a very slow line at the grocery store, I remembered Ready's challenge to talk to men. There was a really tall imposing guy, so I started up a conversation where a little bit into it we started laughing a bit. He offered to let me go in front of him in line, then insisted. In the past I've never asked any of the "I'm learning to talk to unknown men" men but I overhead his name (he must have worked there) so as I left, I thanked him by name. He had a surprised smile and seemed happy.

One guy today.

Tonight my new friend suggested I join the church choir. The last time I sang was in grade school in Texas (could my drawl return?) I'm going to give it a try tonight! In my infinite wisdom I tried following along with one of the tapes her vocal coach gives her for practice (their lesson, edited). I did it and felt pretty good.. except..

except..

My throat now feels like I gargled with sandpaper. I've been told they aren't too picky about choir people at the church. We'll see what their standards are.. or aren't!

*hugs*
