Hope you are feeling much better T! You could either wait or call him today. Do whatever you think is right - I think you are 'safe' enough that you cant make a mistake in re-connecting. If you are sick only call if you can still be happy and fun! (And flirty!). Otherwise its a great valid excuse not to call him, and then you can apologise when you call him in a few days time.
Totally makes sense about the violin vs. viola thing... I knew you were normally very encouraging and positive, so I just wondered what I was missing, but it makes total sense now, and I'm sure he really appreciated being able to talk it through with you.
