The last thing you want to do is snake out your drains.
We had our house built and for a few years, our kitchen sinks would back up. H would always accuse me of putting grease down the drain. Some did get in there but I would always toss it in the trash.
Well, every Christmas Day for about three years, the sinks would back up. He would have to snake it out from outside. A few times, it was impossible as it was something all the way around the side of the house and not really close to the sink area. He'd call a plumber who would come out to the property he was working at.
It was horrible.
Haven't had the problem in some time now, thank goodness.
To me, plumbing is the worst job.
Oh, and over two years ago, just after he moved out and in with ow, part of our house lost electricity. not something I could fix either.
It took him awhile to diagnose the problem. There was a short in the smoke alarm wire way up on the vaulted ceiling.
Thank goodness he knew what he was doing. Saved us a lot of $$$.
