I'll find you in November for tips. My friend and I are going to Vegas for a weekend, first time for both of us, AND we'll be freshly divorced. \:\)

Hi lwb!

I went once when I was first married. And I HATED it. I was taking a course and H was cruising the strip clubs (should have been a clue). And I thought the food was bad and people were phoney but I did manage to see a show with the Carpenters and David Brenner on the same bill. 2 years ago I saw David Brenner and we talked about that show. He ended up talking to me for twenty minutes about Karen and her anorexia. It was like we were old friends!

I went to Vegas with friends and my daughter (baton twirling event) from 2001 through 2007 every year (the event was in France this year). We've stayed at some nice hotel (and one I wouldn't recommend), have found some fab restaurants and seen many many of the shows. Be sure to book some shows - you should do this soon.

So, for sure ask me anything and I'll give you my advice for sure.

Happy Planning!

Happy Hump Day!

The sun is shining, the sky is blue. And I'm heading back to the cottage. To wallpaper. And I don't feel like going this time. SURPRISE!

I have only had 2 days at home. I worked like crazy doing housework, entertaining, having home repairs done and going to work. Last night I looked around and just wanted to STAY HERE! If I were coming home Sunday I would not leave until tommorrow for north but I'm leaving on Saturday since Josh got us Symphony tickets in Toronto. So I'll need to get my act together and hit the road once again. I intend to shop enroute today (which will be fun) since I won't have Tango and Blu along. I didn't want to impose them on Josh despite the fact he LOVES kitties and especially mine.

I'm taking an animal trap with me. The stray cat who lives at the cottage is pregnant AGAIN, very pregnant. I am going to try to catch her before she gives birth (if I'm not too late) and take her in to the SPCA. And I will pay for them to keep her and Spay her. Every summer there are 2 litters of kittens born and most will not likely reach their first birthday due to the harsh winters outdoors. It breaks my heart to know that. I checked with the SPCA and the kittens I took in a couple of weeks ago were all adopted out! (:

A new worker came in yesterday for training. I was shocked to meet her - she was a former student, danced with Ashley for years. And I have a good feeling about her working with Ryan (hope I'm right). So things are on track here.

Ashley came home last night and went right back out. She had been with a couple of friends including prospective new BF at the cottage. But when she got home she announced she was going for coffee with former BF (broke up a little over a month ago). Well she didn't come home! I called her at 4:30 (any Mom would be worried). She said she was spending the night at his place. Hmmmm... so I'm not sure what the deal is now. He does tend to suck her back in. But new prospective BF didn't seem much better. I love her 2 BFs ago best. The one who came to visit 2 weeks ago. Wish she'd see how wonderful he is. But I will keep my mouth closed!

Anyway, it will be a perfect day at the cottage no doubt. 3 days of sunshine in the forecast and despite the bit cooler temps - I intend to get some beach time in yet. And hopefully some photos of the fall colour.

Have a Perfect Day!

Morning Friends!

Suns is shining, sky is blue. I didn't go to the cottage yesterday. I looked around and wanted more than anything to spend the day here. Doing what I wanted to (it wasn't WALLPAPERING!). Besides, I heard they changed the cottage forecast to rain - none of that here. SO...

I organized and made miniatures and shopped and watched some tv. And I was happy.

But today I'm heading north for sure. Earlier than I would have yesterday. And I hope to get to the beach before the sun stops shining! Today's goal will be to move some furniture (desk and wine rack) away from the wall and size that wall. Which means I'll be ready to wallpaper tommorrow morning. AND I WILL!

On the homefront, one of the other reasons I stayed home was Ashley. She was teary and torn yesterday (just a typical day with a hormonal daughter). Decided new prospective BF was too controlling and let him know. His GF had just moved out and he was VERY upset with Ash. I'm proud she stood her ground. But she was also upset that ex BF was interested in someone new and it brought back "those feelings". Both guys work together side by side and texted and called her all day. Her comment "Boy mom, it is so wonderful having 2 guys fight over you". I reminded her that she was in the driver's seat and should do NOTHING.

By evening Ash was sure she wanted to get back with former BF. I tried to tell her she shouldn't make a decision, just take some time to heal. But of course - WHAT DO I KNOW? She did got to his place last night. Oh goodie! But she is an adult now and has to learn from her own mistakes. Besides - no guy is ever gonna be good enough for my only daughter. Oh - except her high school BF. Wish she'd go back with him!

Anyway, heading to the sun, seadoo and WALLPAPER today. My horoscope said "Pouring yourself into what you truly value and wish to create with others will bring much satisfaction and inner fulfillment". So its nice to know I'll get satisfaction and inner fulfillment from WALLPAPER! LOL! It is the last decorating effort of a season of improvements. I will raise a toast when it is done (a couple of weeks from now).

Well, it's late and I'm back at the cottage. I stopped enroute at a new mall and LOVED it. I ended up staying a while. Josh called while I was there. He NEVER calls during work hours. I find he's calling more often at unpredictable times. Can't say I don't LOVE that!

Anyway, I went to a Bass Pro Shop. Not the thing for all the Barbie girls but I loved it! Got a welcome mat for the cottage and waste basket for Brandon's room. Also a warm, fluffy sweater. Then I went to Home Sense (my fav Canadian Store). I got a few kitchen things then went to WInners and got a pashmina and black skirt - things I needed.

Ash called as soon as I arrived. "Mom, I'm taking your advice" OH can you say "SWEET MUSIC TO MY EARS". She decided to dump both guys and take some time to just be Ashley. Was going to the Mall for some "Shopping Therapy". WOW! Ok, not sure how long this will last - she has never been without a boyfriend since grade 7. But I hope she will take some time to refocus her life. I did talk to her an hour ago and she was still single. So that's a start - LOL!

I stuck to my schedule and moved furniture and prepped the wall for papering> It is ready to go! I am glad that I've set small goals on such a massive project and know I'll paper that wall tommorrow!

And now it's getting late but it has been...

A PERFECT DAY!

Yup, this makes it official. Our girls are twins who somehow got separated at birth. This is the very same issue I'm having with Kelsey right now. Tell me we'll get through it????

Yes, Jilly, I"m sure of it. Just promise to listen to me whine about it and I'll do the same for you. I guess we're the Moms of pretty, talented, intelligent, interesting girls and it's not their fault that the guys just won't let them be - is it?

Let's see how long this lasts.

IT was a perfect day here in Cottage Country. I had my day planned and happily, I stuck to it. Started with coffee in the gazebo (well actually 2 coffees). Then after breakfast it was WALLPAPERING! I allowed a couple of hours for the job and even got the border on (something I had not planned to do alone) and it looks great!

With that behind me I headed to the beach. Ok, what beach? The water level had risen so high that the chairs were in a bit of water. So I moved them onto higher land and settled onto the dock. It was sunny and warm. I read for a while then gave myself a pedicure. All in all - about two hours out there.

Once inside I worked on some crafts for a while before making dinner. After dinner I caught up with an old friend then called my daughter. Happily, she is still single after 16 hours! AMAZING!

Tonight I'll catch a movie and read for a while.

It might sound boring, but to me it has truly been

A PERFECT DAY!

Hope yours was too!

Almost perfect here. Perfect would include the sun but that didn't happen out west!

Two things that I did enjoy was a Pumpkin Spice latte from Starbucks and when out walking, the smell of fall leaves!

Wow, Trip,

Both are wonderful Autumn treats to your senses! I've never had a pumpkin spice latte but it sounds fabulous. And fall leaves - great smell!

I saw a loon today! All by his lonesome. Didn't see one boat on the water!

Are you at home or at Fa's?

I spoke to my friend in Nanaimo today. Forgot to ask her about the weather.
