Hey K -

It's cooler here and cloudy!

I think the movie is good. They say its better than Sex in the City. I didn't think so but I did think it was worth seeing.

I want your temps!

Hey Lis!

I started! I'm on a roll. Just small bowl of Cheerios, lowfat milk and sweetener, 2 coffees for breakfast. 1 small grilled tilapia filet and small salad for lunch with diet Pepsi. Its a start - what can I say?

Fig: That sucks! I did not break out. I survived chicken wings! YEAH!

Money diet - does this count? I turned down all the rooms at Disney (I'm taking my disabled son Ryan in Nov) that were over $400 a night. Isn't that outrageous??? I need 2 rooms! Anyway, I settled for $159 night for each room. That's more affordable. Doesn't put me in the hotel I wanted but I'm sacrificing.

Perfect Day!

Ticking off the "To Dos". Making SOME progress. Tommorrow during my minis group meeting here I will have visits from the furnace repairman and the washing machine repairman. That oughta liven up the party!

Ash phoned to say she arrived at the cottage ok. And she loves all the work I've done. My bedroom looks great! Strangely, the one she thinks is AWESOME! is Brandon's room. I didn't really do anything to Brandon's room except change the carpet and move my oak 4 poster bed and nightstands in there. She is not so keen on the new dresser/nightstand in her room - they're shabby chic in a butter yellow colour - so nice! But she's not into girly stuff. I told her I was doing one room in feminine and one in masculine. She understands, though, as she hasn't been there that often.

But anyway, I love my daughter so much more when she is on the other end of a long distance call. The feeling is mutual no doubt.

Gotta go. So much to do for studio and cleaning up here. Making progress. I'm happy!

Blue skies, sunshine, a little cool - but a perfect Almost Autumn Day!

The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker. Yep - its gonna be one of THOSE days. Everyone is coming to my house. Actually - the furnace repairman, the washing machine repairman and my Miniature Group. And I'm teaching a minis class with them today! We're making collector plates. I developed a technique in the Spring and I gave them each a sample in June when we last met. They LOVED them and want to learn. And it is SO simple and inexpensive. I love my hobby!

But I have to finish cleaning my dining room. We like to work in there because of the big table and wonderful natural light and view of the park. But I work in there so much that I don't keep it tidy all the time. That is why I put lace curtains on the french doors and just close off the mess. That doesn't work when you invite people over to use that room.

It will be good to get the dining room under control. I'm planning to start up a friends group here this fall. We will visit here since I have Ryan and can't always go out at night (without advance notice) so we'll do fun things and hopefully a potluck dinner. I will try to get this going in the next month. At this time I'm yoyoing back and forth between cottage and home so much that there isn't much time to do anything in either place. Still - I feel like I AM making some progress.

Ashley called again just before I went to work. They were going to eat the filet mignons I had in the freezer but leave me $ for them. Seems they went to the local general store and they had no steak! I had the same problem on Sat too. Disappointing because their steaks are awesome! I really love Ash but the distance between us really makes her appear so much more appealing. I am enjoying these couple of days in my house with her NOT HERE. A taste of things to come no doubt.

And work was wonderful last night. I am NOT missing teaching as I feared. I am finally free to just direct and am being more efficient than ever. I'm finding more and better ways to communicate with staff. And our enrollment is EXPLODING! Who'd have ever thought I could stop teaching and make more money?

OK, on a time contraint today. My shower awaits. With the new water heater - it should be a breeze.

Hope you're having a Perfect Autumn-like Day today - just like me!

Autumn?? I wish!
We are having our typical one more heat wave hurrah here in So Cal, may get to 102 today i HATE it, i just went and bought fall smelling candles, muted cider, spiced pear, nutmeg to burn this weekend whilst watching movies, and sure enough B and I had the A/C blasting and no stinkin candles as they generate heat! LOL

I want some of your fall weather B!!! please send some!! \:\)

Glad your not missing teaching, Sounds like your days at the cottage are just delightful! I must come visit some day, please keep it for a long time ok? LOL

When is your cruise??

K: I would LOVE to have you visit the cottage. Now, how about getting over the fear of flying? It is a really easy one to conquer.

It will get warmer here too before the REAL fall sets in. I am hoping it is warmer starting tommorrow or I might not go back to the cottage. The house is screaming for things to get done and I'm doing housework today like crazy.

New nurse is being trained today to replace Ashley who starts her fulltime job on Monday. I am SO glad they found someone. She just called and sounds peppy - my kind of girl.

Our cruise will be in January. We are debating leaving on Dec 28 (his birthday) or 29. I'd love to do a layover in LA, Honolulu or Fiji. I promised Josh I'd take him for a wonderful birthday dinner in one of those places if he would agree to leave on or before his birthday. After all - mine will be spent on the ship! No worries - I know it will be fun but I do want to get to Sydney in time for New Year's Eve.

Anyway, we're still looking at flights so departure date is undecided.

I ramble.

Gotta go finish removing dust bunnies and cat hair. Oh joy! I think its time to get a cleaning woman again.
