Good Morning!

The sun is just starting to shine again (after Ike passed through). My smile is returning (after 2 cups of coffee).

Had a fun, though fast and furious weekend! It was Girlfriend Weekend. My sis and one of my friends arrived Fri night despite the nasty forecast. They were tired from the journey but we all woke Sat to NO RAIN. Had coffee in the gazebo and headed out late morning to the country fair.

The fair was small and as we entered I suggested we do 3 things each - Eat something junky, Ride a ride and Buy something fun. So - I ate homemade fries (YUM - they were great!), rode the Ferris Wheel with my sis (Great views from there) and we all bought pink shawls with the breast cancer symbol on them. We were going to wear them that evening but it was rainy by then and I didn't want mine wet.

We saw the parade, the exhibits and the horses. I saw someone I hadn't seen in years - a baton twirler from Toronto. That always happens to me - I see someone in the strangest place where I'd never expect to. Makes life interesting.

Meanwhile, back at the cottage - we did a bit of wallpapering. I had most of the main wall done but we finished that while making chicken caccitore and salad. Had to eat early in order to go to the movies.

Went to see "Women". WOW - a lot of stars. It was great! It dealt with an affair and OW. Even stirred up some angst in me over that situation and the pain of it all. Still, it doesn't hurt to let it surface once in a while. That's how you deal with it. But it was about Girlfriends and their importance - perfect for our weekend.

Oh, and Josh called me enroute. I finally have my hands free phone enabled (only took me 2.5 years - LOOOONNNG story) and we all chimed in to chat with him. He really is a sweetie!

Back at the cottage we voted to watch my dvd "27 Dresses". We'd all seen it before but just love it and laughed along.

Yesterday was rainy but VERY warm so once again the morning began in the gazebo. GF wanted to finish some wallpaper so she and I got the border up on that first wall and the wall just "pops" now. I LOVE it!

Sis and I had some time to chat and both of them filled out our Guest books. They were hurrying off since GF had to work last evening - too bad! The rain continued so during one lull I tossed the kitties in the car and came home too.

Ash was busy packing as she and her friends headed up last night - her first cottage visit of the year. I am glad she finally got there. And I hope she appreciates all the reno work!

Today is busy since I'm only home Mon and Tues. Have a house FULL of stuff to take care of BEFORE I go to work. But I'm feeling ambitious so that is good.

Goals for today:

1. Do all the phone calls on my list re repairs/vacations etc

2. Start a new fitness/diet regime - taking that first step

That's enough - don't you think?

Hope you all have a PERFECT MONDAY! What is on your plate today?
