I'm very thankful that I like my job "most" of the time.
I have a story to tell that is one of my favorites.
This story relates to the day that 911 happened. I am in no way discounting the tragedy that happened today, but this happened on that day and I have always remembered it.
We were watching television that day to keep up with what was going on. One of my students was talking about what a coward he thought President Bush was to keep hopping on a plane and flying all around so that no one knew where he was.
We had the following conversation Me - The President has to do that because he is the leader of the free world. Student - Our world isn't free. Me- Yes it is. We live in a democratic society where we have choices and some people live in a communist country where everything is dicatated to them. Student - We do not live in a free world Me - Yes, we do. Why do you say that? Student - Because nothing is free in our world, we have to pay for everything!
You gotta love the world explained through a young person's eyes!
