Firstly, D3 and I are doing fine.. she's going to daycare 3 times a week now as I started working part-time last week. She's being a real trooper. I know getting up at 6am isn't easy for her but she's been wonderful. I'm so thankful.
So yeah, I took that job with my former colleagues. I feel like I've got too much on my plate at the moment but I know that will ease once I get the processes under my belt. Just takes time to familiarize myself with programs I'd never used before. I actually spoke to my boss today (after 3.5 days on the job) and told him that I respected that it was a small outfit and money was tight.. but that if they landed the big deal they are working on I would very much appreciate it if a raise would be in my future. I explained that I no longer have a pension now that I'm working for this smaller company and with the wage I'm making, although it's much better than minimum wage, doesn't allow me to save for my future (and D3's) or to be completely self reliant since H and I split. Needless to say he seemed uncomfortable.. didn't say no but also didn't say he would think about it. He said that if I found something more suitable financially for me.. that he would completely understand if I had to take it. So that was that! I felt good about the fact that I addressed it right upfront. I'm not the confrontational type at all.. so it wasn't easy for me.. but I've learned through the crap this year that the only person I can count on to take care of me is me!
I have to tell you that I read some really good books while I was away from the boards. They were the Twilight Saga..... and OMG I loved them. I read through all 4 of them sooooooo fast!!!!! Now I'm just sad that I'm done. I picked up "The Host" which is also by Stephanie Meyer (she wrote the Twilight Saga) but haven't been able to get past the first 5 or 6 pages. Just isn't as fascinating I guess.
Please send out some positive vibes to assist me in the sale of my home! I'm practicing "The Secret" and have told myself that my house sold this week... So now it's out there for everyone to read.. it's bound to happen.
I did manage to sell my treadmill. They'll be back to pick it up on Saturday.. so the house (which I told you will sell/sold this week) and the air hockey table are the only big ticket items I have hanging over me home wise!!!
I have been trying to read all the threads of my friends on here.. but for some reason I just am at a loss for things to say at the moment. Sorry about that! But I am there and reading..
