It's true that his explanation is that he's trying to save money, but he's actually paying on the high end for his area. I checked on Craigslist, and there are much nicer places (granted, via photos) with actual full kitchens and heat and storage space, garages, heck even hardwood floors & pools! in his same area for a couple hundred dollars less. That's why I attribute it to another bad decision that he's made, that I can't understand.
Sigh. I have to stop worrying about him on his mixed-up journey.
