This is the type of resort that fosters a lot of social interaction. For example, all the tables seat 8 people so you are always seated with different people. The hurricane did lead to a little more interaction.
The Resort handled the storm very well. The Chief of the village happened to be on vacation. The GO in charge was only 28. I was very impressed with how well The Resort did with what they had to work with. For example, the night Hanna hit, we were out as long as possible and really were told to go to our rooms at the last minute at around 9:30 pm. The second night, Hanna was lingering around the island and scheduled maybe hit again at 1 am - so we stayed out till midnight. That night was interesting - people went a little wild - caught up in a Dionysian like Hurricane frenzy.
I think they are planning on giving us some sort of credit. But really I don't mind if they don't. This is one of the few places where I can go and really just leave reality at the door and am surrounded by other type A's that leave reality at the door. People that work too hard also know how to really let loose. Everything is a little on the wild side - the shows etc. Sometimes there were articles of clothing flying onto the stage as a part of the games! I have posted in the past about feeling like a fish out of water at times. This is a place where I feel very comfortable and very much in my element.
I keep remembering different parts of my trip and getting a huge smile on my face. And everytime I hear certain songs - well housework involves a lot of dancing lately! I won't post much more b/c it will probably be censored as blogging or as offensive. Besides my surviving choices may run contrary to the BB purpose of preserving M's. I would have to say - at this vacation I found myself thinking - I am so glad I am single!
I will say this - I think I have a thing for Australian men now.... Might have to add that one to my list of requirements!
And all the stress-related stiffness, tight muscles, etc - all gone! That is priceless!
