as a teacher, I encourage parents to let me know what is happening in their child's life

it helps me cut them some slack sometimes

I went and had a talk with my kids teachers a week after W left. Amazingly, W took the "The kids will be fine. If I'm happy, they will be happy" approach and didn't talk to the kids teachers at all.

I think it takes them (MLCers) a long time to realize what they are doing to the kids. And even when they do realize it, they are too busy being self centred and don't know how to deal with it.

So far my favourite quote from my wife is "D5 has been asking for you a lot this week. I don't understand why"
