Do you have the cell phone and land line numbers of the people she is staying with? I'm sure they wouldn't mind you calling when you can't get ahold of her.

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are. -- Bernice Johnson Reagon
I did get the address. I will ask for the landline. But after Katrina the only way to reach people was via text messaging to cell phones. And Deuxlie lives right near them. She has the address now too. So if need be, she can check for me.
Today is the hurricane. i can see on tv that it doesn't look too bad. The reporters are standing outside talking about the weather. They're not getting too blown around or too wet. I tried calling D23, but she didn't answer. I spoke to Deuxlie and she said it's very windy, and the eye hasn't passed yet, but they dtill have electricity, cable and internet. So things are fine.
I'm sure this is good for the Arkansas hotel industry. They did the contraflow on the highways yesterday, and all traffic was diverted north. You were not allowed to drive east on I-10 into Mississippi or Florida. Just got a text message from Deuxlie that the power is out now, no internet or cable, she is conserving her cell phone battery. It is very nice of Deuxlie to keep me informed. You do make some very good friends on this bulletin board.
Just a text message at 4:30 saying that everything was fine. i don't think cell phones are working in the area, except for texting. I tried Deuxlie, and she didn't answer either. I saw on the internet that the river in the town they are in overflowed its banks and flooded the first couple of blocks of town. But both of them were located at least 5 miles from the river. She told my son that there were some twigs and limbs blown down in the yard, and they had a lot of cleaning up to do.
