Thanks for the tips! I decided to scrap stripping today. Didn't want to wreck my Perfect Day. And boy - it is getting more Perfect by the minute!
THe sun is starting to come out and the temp is rising. THe vaccuming and dishes are done. Still a bit of tidying up to do before Josh arrives with the wine. We'll be firing up the grill tonight!
Been handling a lot of registrations and questions from staff at work. It is shaping up to be a very full year and that means more profit - maybe it will be a PERFECT YEAR. Ok, what is wrong with this picture? I won't have to go to work, will spend a month in the South Pacific and a month in Florida and will have a higher income than in the past? Yep - PERFECT YEAR!
Oh, I'll still be working. It doesn't run itself but I can do it on my own time. I'm branching out in other areas too and developing my artistic skills. I'm getting more and more requests for my miniature work and handmade jewellery. Those are hobbies but I can't resist selling a piece or 2 to someone who really appreciates my work.
Well, best go finish tidying up so I can relax and enjoy fine wine and dining and the company of a really good man!
Well, today is probably the most perfect day of the Perfect Weekend. Even Josh mentioned that as he left for home. What I'd like to know is "why did it take till the kids go back to school (and me to work) to finally get summer??? This was the only full w/e we spent on the beach and it was a hot one! we Seadooed and swam. Also went to visit the kittens and gave more $ to the SPCA. Yesterday we visited the local wildlife sanctuary and made donations there as well. I am so impressed with their rehabilitation program for releasing animals back into the while.
And we finished planting my new garden and mulched and watered it as well.
So, tommorrow I have to leave this little piece of paradise to head home for work. I hope to return in 9 days - that I can live with. And it will be VERY busy when I get back.
Life is good. Love is grand. And life after divorce CAN be perfect at times.
You had the summer we had last year. It rained July and August but we had a beautiful September. This year we had a good July and pretty good August but now it is cold and wet. It is supposed to get nice by the end of the week I hope.
I AM HOME! I almost didn't leave. But I DO have to work tommorrow. It was HOT today. NOt a cloud in the sky. I skipped out cleaning and just went to the beach. And out on the Jet SKi. ANd finally, when I said I'd had enough sun for today I got in the car. And my kitties have missed me! I left them home last time since I was staying in TOronto enroute.
Nic: Yes, I guess it is different across the country. This goes on record as the worst weather summer EVER in Ontario. It sucked. But, of course - it is so wonderful now! Oh well, I'm not going to whine. I intend to be back up there in about a week. Lucky moi!
Karen: Stripping, ummm - I absolutely have to get it done so I will have to start next week. Leenie is coming to the cottage for the w/e so that will give me about one day! Maybe she will want to strip too! I spent $500 wallpaper - I'd better gitterdun!
Trip: I love that song too and it puts me in a really good mood. I taught a cute tap dance to it several years ago - dressed the kids in "Legally Blonde" type outfits. I've decided it is a good theme for the studio and recital this year so that's my theme song!
Everyone - watch America's Got Talent tonight. I heard that Jonathan Burkin (Baton Twirler) will be on. I have known him from many contests and introduce and play his music for him at the Disney World Contest every year. I do love baton twirlers!
OK - Please vote for Jonathan Burkin on America's Got Talent. Every one of the judges was blown away completely. He was totally amazing - twirling 3 fire batons at one time!

Ashley NEVER watches tv with me. But she did tonight and we were both just blown away.
On another note - I solved a major problem with work and it is shaping up wonderfully! This is going to be one very busy year! I am on top of the world.
And Josh called. He got a promotion at work as well. He is now an executive partner and he will be getting a raise! Boy - I am so proud of him.
