I left a post that I thought was cute (in a twisted way) only to find it gone. It was about a brochure your spouse must have read whose name I don't recall. How everything that seems so wrong to you feels so right for him...
The message to me is.. being negative about something (like I was) rarely leads to something positive. With that in mind..
Hurray for you, ms. lwb... you are incredibleness incarnate!
D6 got a high fever, neck and headache Thurs/Fri/Sat. We were worried as she wasn't finding relief even on Tylenol with Codeine. My D6 is not a low maintenance sick person to begin with. lol Anyway, she was perking back up on Saturday evening Isn't that the way, you basically reserve them a room for them at the hospital and they pop back? Thank goodness.
I took Sunday off to keep an eye on her and it turned out to be a lovely day. Play play play and my D6 back to herself. Looks like D4 escaped the wrath/fever. Knocking on wood.
H hasn't been sleeping at the house for one week. That's 7 days folks. Count 'em. He was hardly around when D6 was sick this weekend, but mostly it was because of work. He called a lot to check on her though.
I decided I don't want anything else from him at the moment except for him to continue to be a good dad, to put them first, at least when he has them.
I love the peace. I love the peace. Did I mention, I love the peace?
Yes, I grilled for the first time ever. I was always the side dish girl, while H grilled the main course. Well, he hasn't grilled once in a year (from grilling 2-3 times a week). Dusted off his grill, and grilled marinaded chicken breast and peppers. The girls scarfed it up. I was very proud.
Conversation among my daughters while preparing the chicken:
(me putting chicken in a bag with V/O dressing)
D6: What's that?
Me: Marinade. You can pick anything, just makes the chicken moister.
D4: What is it?
D6: (annoyed) Mare-IN-nade, D4.
D4: Mommy's married to the chicken?
D6: No, D4 (more patiently). Mommy's gonna eat the chicken and she is married to Daddy.

Aaahhh... yes, I am the queen of the grill now. I have found a way (after many attempts) to not overcook stuff on the grill. Yes.. women can grill!! Congratulations

Congrats on mastering the grill. I taught W how to grill not long after we got married. It was still my duty for most of our time together, but she got to pick up the skill from me.
nocode, I have one little girl who watched me cook/grill from start to finish, fascinated by the fire. D6 loves anything food related, cooking and eating. She can now microwave her own waffle in the morning (she doesn't like them toasted because it makes hard edges lol), apply butter and syrup and eat away. I love watching her do it!!! She calls it "WBS" (waffle, butter, syrup). "Mom can I make a WBS?"
Love that kid. She is exhausting, moody, insecure and stubborn, but I will never ever give up on her. Never.
I miss those times. I hope you write this great stuff down. I never did, at the time you think you'll always remember that stuff. Now, I regret it so much. I just think about all of those cute little things I can't remember anymore!
Glad you had a great weekend - minus "the big dummy"! LOL

That's me. The cute little things they said that I can't remember anymore. I do remember this though. When the kids were little I told them each that I gave them the ocean and the moon. One night we were riding in the car and there was a huge full moon. And S25 said, "Look at the moon, how big it is. You used to say that it was my moon." And then S19 said in a very sad voice, "You said it was MY moon..." I just wanted to cry.
Sara, that's so sweet.. and they're still fighting over things, huh? You should have said, "Why can't you two learn to share? I'll turn this car right around if the both of you don't get along right now!"
