Thanks for the update. It's good that it won't hit til after the weekend (if at all). Sometimes it's so disappointing when you prepare for a storm and then nothing at all happens. But that is what you hope for.
As long as the Northshore is not being evacuated, then I guess I shouldn't worry. We stayed through lots of storms where they did evacuate up to I-12, and the only real problem was losing power. They always seemed to turn the power off before the storm hit. Then it was days to get it back on. I don't know if they evacuated above I-12 for Katrina. I had a friend on Military Road in Covington whose house was somehow pushed a little bit off the slab by Katrina. And that is far north of 12.
Yoyo, I always worry when my kids are traveling. It makes me feel so vulnerable. I hope they will be safe.
