what will happen frank when you tell her it isn't ok for her to just drop by whenever to check her email or to come in your house and putz around????
She doesn't just drop by. She calls and asks permission first. She stays for maybe 10-15 minutes on average.
Personally, I think she is starting to feel the rejection.
Here's a recent event.
She called about an hour ago, asked if she could come by because D13 called her and asked her to. So they can talk about school and other things.
I said "sure, I'm up to my armpits in alligators so I'll be in my office putting out fires"
She came over and was here for about 20 minutes. Didn't come to my office at all. Then she leaves and calls my cell.
W: Since you're up to your armpits in alligators did you have a plan for dinner? I can come back and make food for you guys (D13 and me)
Me: Yes, I wsa planning on going out to get something after checking in with D13 to see what she was interested in. I'm almost done with my work and I like the break.
W: Are you sure? I don't mind.
Me: Yeah, I'm good. Thanks for offering.
W: Do you want me to pick up D17 later? I don't mind.
Me: Sure, if you want to. I like picking her up from BFs house because it gives me a break from the office.
W: Well, I don't want to take away your break. Besides your car get's better mileage than mine. (I have the Prius, she has the minivan)
Me: Ok, I'll get her then.
W: I'm going to Trader Joes right now, is there anything I can get for the kids?
