Hi Trip!

What is left to be done??? Well, its always a work in progress. The kitchen wallpaper is a big deal. The only papering I've ever done was here in the bathroom 10 years. That was a nightmare. This is a much bigger room but it will still be a lot of work. But since it cost me neary $500 - Im gonna gitter dun.

The floor in the kitchen shifted a bit in last winter's snow and from the retaining wall leaning on it. (no one seems to notice this but me) but it will need to be levelled out and then I'm going to get wood laminate flooring done instead of the crappy vinyl on it now. I am actually considering extending it into the living room which is adjacent and going with a forest animals area rug. We'll see. Josh has suggested waiting till next Spring on the floor levelling as it might shift back. SO far it has been doing that since the pressure of the retaining wall has lifted. Besides - can't afford the floor till then.

I also have a large, unfinished upstairs which will be next on the list. I have to upgrade my electrical to handle that reno first. And I also need some landscaping done to improve outdoor stairs/paths.

As you see - it is a never ending battle. But this year tops them all for BIG IMPROVEMENTS!

Hi Nic!

I am so very happy for you! Congrats!

Yes, I really want to hear about your trip so let me know when you get time.

I'm back to work with a "soft Start" right now - using the computer to handle questions, scheduling and class arrangements. My other staff handle the actual phone calls. We did one Open House last week and have 2 next week. Then I'm BAAACCCCKKK!!!

Bethie: YOu might have opened that can of worms but I dug right into it. And Jill and Karen got in with me. Along came my sis and some of our other friends. Seems no one has good memories of Ms Angst Girl. (Is that what AG stands for these days?)

SO, worry not - you took a stand and it was the right one.

I heard this saying last week and simply must post it here.

It is better to stand for something than to fall for anything!!!!

Truer words were never spoken.

Barb

PS: Bethie - I never even read your post to FLTC. It was shut down before I turned on my PC but I did object intensely to the use of deletion when so much of Angst Girl's garbage is left on the bb. I know a lot of other people who posted and/or emailed me had problems with that issue too. Email me what your post said, ok?

Nic: I think you've solved the magnifying glass mystery my dear Watson! Thanks! I must have clicked that on when she was going off on all the posters in July. Wanted to keep tabs on the craziness.

Thanks!

Yep K - many people have a problem with that one. Hasn't been a big issue with me in recent months since I had most of the poster's emails. And between all of us - we can put together quite a list.

But for the newbies - its not such a good thing, really. I don't like it

I have a question? Does anyone try to email Michelle directly and, if so, does she respond or sluff it off to a moderator?

Well today was difficult in the fact that I had to do something I didn't want to do - but I knew was the right thing. I "caught" the 3 little kittens and took them in to the SPCA. They were wild and free. But I had been feeding them. What would you do? Let them starve? Moochie had got too close to me, letting me stroke and cuddle while he purred. The other 2 were still skittish but Josh told me he doubted they would all last the winter. It is far north and it gets VERY cold. There was no shelter here for them. And I'll be going home.

I talked to the SPCA for a long time before making my decision. Locally they have a "no kill" policy and that was very important to me. They said it really helped that I had started to socialize them and because they'd been fed - they were in good health. If the 2 skittish ones were not immediately adoptable they'd be given to foster homes until they were socially ready. And the other good news is that several people have been asking for black kittens and they only have grey, orange and calico at present.

So, I put their food in my cat's kennel and they were all "trapped" in under a minute. I put them in the car and never heard a peep out of one of them during the half hour drive. Weird thing for me, especially today. The SPCA is on the same road as the OPP station where I'd gone to pick up H from Jail exactly 7 years ago today. That's the only other time I'd even been there.

I gave a donation to the shelter to help with food etc. They do good work. I visited the other cats and kittens there as well.

And I miss the little guys. It seems so strange to go outside without tripping over them.

But it was the right thing to do.

Sigh...

JIll: I Have emailed Michele directly but that was years ago. And Michele responded herself. Even on Christmas Eve if I recall. She voluntarily emailed me more than once out of the blue, one time to congratulate me when H moved back home another to encourage me to stay on the bb when I posted I thought of leaving. I found her to be a very involved group owner. I have not heard from her personally recently though.

I don't see my post...SHOOTTTTTTTTTTTTT

I'm on my way to dinner but wanted you to know that what I wrote was not offensive or so I thought. I just wanted to point out that sometimes people don't need to be told what to do. What they're really looking for is our support.

Going to dinner ....I'm outta here!

Love,
Bethie
