TAL,

I'm sorry that happened. That is a stupid mistake. Were the antibiotics an eyedrop or a systemic pill? When is he supposed to see the doctor again? You know that I had an infected eye and it is a very serious matter. Of course these things always happen on weekends. Does he have sight through the eye? Is it clear or cloudy? When my eye became infected it looked like I was seeing through a white cloud. As the infection developed the vision became totally white. They were able to give me a treatment into the eye that killed the infection and restored the sight completely. It took about 4-6 weeks for the sight to return.

I am praying that his eye will not become infected. However, if it does he needs to get treatment immediately. I was treated by a retina specialist.

Sara,

Unfortunately my info is sketchy because Im going by what my fil heard from the dr. Anways, the medicine is drops both for the omnipred and the anitibiotic. his sight is blurry, but he can't open them just because of pain. One eye is worse than the other.

When talking with him last night, he said that they were burning, I don't know if this is normal or not. Im going to have to do some research on my own. How was it for you?

Thanks for your support.

Saffie~the anger I have for FIl is bad. Im like a crazy person when it effects my kids or H. can't help it. Thanks for your kind words \:\)

TAL,

The prednisone drops are very important. Don't underestimate those. They make the eye much more comfortable and somehow clear the sight. The antibiotic drops are important too, but my doctor told me that it is very hard to get antibiotics into the eye. Not physically difficult to put in, that somehow the antibiotic drops are not that effective. That is why the treatment for an infection is necessary. Pills and drops won't cure it if the eye gets infected.

I also had to put in drops to dilate the pupil. Those drops burned horribly! But you do what you have to do when it comes to your eyes. If he is keeping the pupil dilated, which I had to do for most of a week I think, then that is what is causing the burning. I imagine that opening the pupil allows the drops to get in and be more effective.

((((((TAL)))))))

Does he plan on staying out there or trying to come back once he gets where he can travel? Can you talk to the doctor if your H gives permission? I know this has to be so hard. You are in my prayers and thoughts.

Hi (((((sara,yoyo & lwb)))))

He has to stay out there to finish up the work for the state. They are really backwards out there, so its difficult for me to get an answer from anyboydy.

Just talked with H, he didn't feel he was any better, so he went back to the dr.s and then said he probably wouldn' be able to see until Friday. He's really upset. If he had taken the antibiotics that they gave him, he would have been much better.

I'd like to smack my FIL. I asked H if he wanted me to go out there and he said no, I feel so helpless, I haven't slept since this happend, im completly exhausted. I even tried to take a advil pm last night and it didn't nothing for me.

My h is the type where even if he had a 104 fever he would be working, so for him to be out this long, I know its got to be bad.

Hi TAL, So sorry about H.

Do take care of yourself - maybe try some OTC sleeping meds tonight? Or even see your doctor about some Really Good Stuff?
