Hi Beth!

We may have to postpone till next Spring but at least the place will be ready this time. I've done enough reno to last 10 years at least!

Yesterday WAS gorgeous AND hot! I went to Toronto. Josh had told me he had a surprise for me. It was liquid. I assumed it was wine. He gave me a gift bag (wine sized). Asked me what I thought it was. "Wine". Well, yeah, wine, but what was special about it? I couldn't think of anything, just said "maybe the wine from our first date or something?" Well he knew I had bought several bottles of Dan Akroyd's wine (his winery is nearby) and really liked it. I also gave some to my friends out west. Well guess what? It was a bottle of Dan Akroyd's Cab/Merlot but Dan had signed it!!! "To Barb love Dan Akroyd!!!" I guess Josh was wine shopping and ran into him in Toronto!!! Woo Hoo! Now that's a keeper!

Had a nice visit with Josh's family (remember when I thought I'd never meet them)? We had shopped earlier for gifts and got the cutest stuff for his 4 year old niece. He got his sis Symphony tickets for a performer she loves. He really is quite thoughtful.

And just a reminder if you're in a new R. Remember to ask for what you want. One thing I've always noticed is that Josh is VERY focussed on his work. I never call him at work and rarely email. But a week ago I texted him on his way home from the cottage (to tell him I found my camera - we'd been looking) but got no reply. On Friday I had emailed him at work asking him about Sun plans - what to wear - if he wanted me to bring anything etc. But got no reply. When I hadn't heard by Sat night I was a bit miffed. And kind of worried that he might decide I needed to bring something & I wouldn't have time to make it or buy it. So I just emailed a "HELLO??" email. He did call me late, worried that I was ticked and I just said that I usually like a response to my messages. But it was not said nastily, just matter of fact. Then he told me about a surprise (the wine) and of course I forgot I was angry.

But on the way to the cottage today he called on my cel while he was at work - just to say hi, wish me a great day. WOW - that little gesture really made my day.

Anyway, got here and have many things to take care of for work. Have to get on with it, but wanted to post and say that today was a PERFECT DAY too!
