Sounds like you are on the right path anyway. If you haven't argued for the last month and a half, then you are already proving him wrong :). I think that men are really afraid of constant arguing, and that it somehow really wears them down, maybe because they usually want solutions to problems rather than simply rehashing the problems? My H is like that too, and I think it's one of the reasons we are where we are, but there have been no arguments in the last month.
How often do you see/talk to your H? Are you happy with your progress to date?
