That sounds like quite an interesting and fun pet. I have heard that parrots can have a very long lifespan for a bird.
I remember visiting a bird zoo up around Seattle once and I asked one of the trainers how they did not go deaf from being around the loud Mcaws and Cockatoos all the time. He just said "Huh". Those birds hurt my ears.
