I didn't say girly-man hands. I mean strong, tough guy hands, just with some of the rough edges taken off. I have received complaints when they were too claw like. I do see your point about the masculine/feminine dynamic though.
My workout is my yard and I also do a lot of handy work around the house. My job keeps me in good shape too... I'd trade it for better pay though.
