MY cousins live in TX and before their divorce was ever final, she was getting financial support from him as directed by the courts. I am not familiar with the laws there but I know she was getting $$$ from my cousin because he was cancelling his family from the auto insurance, not paying the utilities and the utilities being turned off, etc.
With regard to the braces--he said no. Did you ask him to help pay monthly to the orthodontist or does he think you need all of the money upfront? Here, braces are just over $4000 for one person. I know, all of my kids have had braces the last three years and they finally got them off over the last 8 months or so.It is every expensive.
