Is she supposed to marry him? Because it seems to me that she really doesn't want to, and maybe Jen is right, she is looking for someone to tell her it is okay that she not marry him...
Im still standin better than I ever did looking like a true survivor feeling like a little kid Im still standin after all this time and Im picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind..
It might be a good idea for someone to tell her that, but I don't think it should come from me. I don't want to come across as persuing.
I think the reason she was so into him at first, was because he touched her love language by verbally telling her a lot of nice stuff. That's not something I am very good at, although I always tried. I just didn't do it often enough I guess. So I think she thought he was perfect at first and just happened to be a guy that gave her what she was craving. Other than that though, he doesn't seem to be much of a catch. I think she's slowly realizing that.
She is supposed to be marrying him on May 10th. They aren't formally engaged, but they have it planned out and have set that date, reserved the chapel, etc.
She did tell me on the phone earlier, that she just might sub around here through the school year and then decide what to do. It sounded to me like she was having second thoughts about the marriage. She also brought up the jobs at one of the local school systems, so she's definetly thinking a lot about sticking around for a while.

Do you guys have a mutual friend that might be able to talk to her to see where her head is at?
If she is still ML with you, it is a really bad idea for her to marry him. May I ask, did you ever propose?

We don't have a mutual friend that would work for that situation, but her best friend that she talks to (she told me she talked to her before she talked to me) is sure to tell her not to do it.
I never did propose. I came really close one time, and we went ring shopping (looking) so I would have an idea of what she liked, but I never actually did it. I was trying to take things as slowly as possible because I didn't want to end up divorced again...LOL

I don't normally suggest this, but do you trust the best friend enough to contact her and maybe get the friend to talk to her?

Not really. Her best friend is one that she leaned on to discuss how she had a hard time with me having children, and having to deal with my ex-wife on a daily basis. Her advice to her then was to move on if she didn't think she could deal iwth it. That's also why I'm pretty sure that she is telling her not to marry this guy. I think if I relax and let things pan out, her friend will give her the same advice without me asking her to.
I don't know how to contact her right now anyway, she just moved to Atlanta.

How many kids do you have? I think with women, having children is a bigger deal then with men. My H does not have any of his own, had no desire to have any, and as a matter of fact, I was the first woman he had ever been serious that had children.

I take it she wanted kids, and you did not want anymore?
