Journaling:
Really been enjoying the single life this past week or so. It was a bit tough hearing about the fun the boys were having going to some of my favorite places back home, but otherwise, the solitude has done me good.

I have been doubling up on my tri-club workouts and am REALLY enjoying the workouts as well as the group. What a change from my 20's when I spent my free time in bars til 2 or 3 in the morning...now I am getting up at 4 in the morning to go swim, run, and bike. Definitely meet a much better group of people this way!

One sad, but necessary thing is that I got all of the draft docs. from the L today. I will have to go over them tomorrow, just no energy for that tonight.

So, I will be off to TX and CO for the next few weeks. Totally looking forward to seeing the boys and getting them into the mountains again.

Oh yeah, Scott, forgot to mention that I am going to be riding on a sweet full-suspension Scott carbon frame mtn. bike this time. You can rent them for $60 a day...way cheaper than the ER visit!

Take care, SD

SD--congrats on the race! Sounds like your next goal is attainable, too \:\)

As to the paperwork, just remember that it is business; it is not where you hoped to be, but you know that it has to be done to protect your future. Hope that the draft is ok without too many revisions. Hope you jump on here if you have any Qs--I got a lot from our friends here that helped.

Hey SD:

That is great that you did so well in the race. How was your vacation in CO and TX? How are you doing?

It is tough reviewing those draft documents carefully. It took a lot of effort for me to be able to detach enough to read them for substance - a good thing b/c there were some significant errors - a biggie was the wrong address of my house! A lot of attorneys use templates and sometimes get careless when it comes to filling in the blanks.

So you are a nutty mountain biker. My last BF before I got M was a serious mountain biker - did things like fly over his handle bars and split his helmet in half. He loved that kind of thing - well the riding part - not flying over the handle bars...

take care,
AG

Hi Donna, AG, and any lurkers!

I really took a complete vacation this time. No work, no posting, no worries. Had a great time all round, the kids loved the mountains as much as I do and were SOOOO sad when we had to leave.

Somehow, I even managed to find a patch of snow they could hike to and we had a snowball fight in August...their first taste of snow, being from Florida!

Not yet, but I am working on it! It definitely let's you know you are alive. Only one minor wreak this time...actually the rattlesnake we saw on the first day was the worst part!

As for the legal documents, I am back on it this weekend. Just needed a break from everything, this included!

As you would say AG, life is good, very good!

I am so glad you took that break before you got the D rolling. Some D process angst is unavoidable. You sound like you have reached a good calm-state equilibrium and are prepared to mentally handle whatever the next few months bring your way.

I have allowed 15 months to go by w/o a real vacation. Your post is reminding me to make taking one a priority... I can see how the lack of a total worry free/work free vacation is taking a toll on my ability to maintain my mental equilibrium.

Snow in August - you must have been high up! How fun!

I imagine it is a challenge to work on mountain biking in Florida! LOL!

Was it a happy - I am curled up in my space rattlesnake or a threatened rattling snake. I am afraid of things that bite but it really is so cool seeing animals in their natural habitat.

I stopped the daily journaling roughly four weeks ago with the goal of increasing my interactions with real people. I had not actually stopped to think this in awhile. I need to start thinking about life being good and why everyday again.

Actually your post to me about whether I was continously working on myself to avoid an R was so on point. It set of a thought process in my brain. My goal is to process things in real time and take a few emotional risks and talk to real people more. I was using this BB to process those parts of myself that I was afraid to share with the real world - here. And then going out into the real world "appearing" totally in control of my life.

That is not realistic or healthy. Thank you for that kernel of wisdom.

I missed the calm tone of your posts. Nice to see you back.

take care,
AG

Indeed it was...just going through the settlement agreement now and it isn't even getting me down!

I meet up with Nomopo occasionally when I am in Houston and talk to StillMe as well. Nomo has his own place and I think his D may be final now. He took a great new job, working for a non-L firm and sounded really happy the last time we talked.

StillMe and her H are having a long, drawn out battle, but she seems to be faring well.

You forgot about Sara, who still posts on here and has helped out so many people.

Who else was there...ItsKat, GD, ?? I think they have all moved on to the next phases of their lives. Funny, but I was the most done at that point and seem to be the only one with a spouse at home...not really what I was aiming for!

Hi AG,
The snake was in a real sour mood since my buddy just about ran him over right before I rode up.

I tried to pry him off the road, throw rocks at him, etc. This only made him more angry. Then I "DBed" him and backed down the trail away from him. As soon as I did this, he uncoiled and slithered away. Cool, huh!

Glad that it was helpful. Sometimes a perfect stranger can see things in us from 1000 miles away that we can't see in the mirror. Just the way it is! You and others have definitely given me this many times in return!

PS - my $.02 take the vacation and take it soon. Do something that pushes you a bit but also offers the chance to recover as well. If there is a yoga studio in the hotel, even better!

Done.

You are Friend #3 to use the word SOON/NOW.

I just made reservations to go to Turks & Caicos for week - leaving on the Saturday after next. It is an all inclusive resort - w/ yoga as sunrise on the beach. I have the option of snoozing my time away in a hammock or scuba diving, sailing lessons, etc.

Now I need to go dig out my scuba stuff. I use to scuba dive all the time - it has been 7 years since the last diving vacation... I might have to buy COOL NEW stuff

take care,
AG

Can I come too? \:D

Seriously though, this sounds like a real vacation and just what you need. Don't bring your laptop though, otherwise I will have to fly down there and throw it in the ocean!
