Mike,

Hang in there bro...I know it's gotta be a really tough day today. I agree with whoever said it earlier, you should go see Tropic Thunder or a good funny movie. A few laughs might be the best medicine for you right now.

Father--

Your servant Mike has fought a hard battle. He has stood the course in the face of his wife's bitterness and anger, and has done so with grace and dignity. But he is hurting now, Father. I would ask that you wrap him in your arms and carry him through the next few days. Offer him solace and comfort in this, his time of despair. We ask this in your son Jesus' name, Amen

My STBX left a note for the housekeeper today describing the injury so that's how I knew what it was. I changed the water filter and took the trash. I cleaned up a bit upstairs and will work on the garage in a bit.

It is her left knee so she can drive. Her dad and step mom are set to arrive soon so she will have plenty of help this weekend. Her biggest Relay event of the year is this weekend..it the American Cancer Societies Cattle Baron's Ball..I bet that will be tough on 1 leg. Looks like she may have to have surgery in 2 weeks.

While going through a closet upstairs I found my STBX's hope chest. It's filled with stuff she kept from when we first met. She kept 3 labels from the beer bottles we drank from. All the old cards and letters. She kept the box that the engagement ring came in..

It has been a bittersweet day.

I must go now. Say a prayer for me please.

Mike...

That's gotta hurt one having tore that and then having to ask you for help, dang what will she do now that you are gone...

Cleaning up and changing the filter was just the right thing to do you still have compassion even though the sitch stinks, you are a good man and Father...

I'm sure seeing the keepsakes hurt hard to believe it went from that to the way it is now, maybe she should have looked in there once in a while so that she could see just what she had going for herself...

Take it one day at a time brother....

Will keep you in my prayers tonight...

Brian

Hey Mike..

Welcome to your new home. Good job on cleaning up after the move. That can be such a hassle, especially now that your wife is injured. Oh goodness.. and she has those hyper dogs too.

How does it feel to have some breathing room, some peace and quiet? Do you have something personal from your little angel to carry around with you? I used to carry around a ketchup packet in a jacket pocket that one of the kids gave me. As I'd fumble for something, my fingers would find it, squish it.. and then wonder what in the heck it was. "Ahhh, the ketchup packet!".. Smiles and feeling love would always flood through.

*lots of hugs*

Yer buddy

Just thinking of you and checking in....read somewhere that the first 100 days is the hardest. Do you know what day you are on?
