In the beginning my h would say your bed, your room. It would hurt me but I didn't say anything. Later on my h would get upset when I said my bed, my house, etc. Like you I tried not to say it like that. It's like they distance themselved from all of their previous lives. Once they start coming out of it then they know it's "ours." Each person is different. Hasn't your h made many strides towards home? Just hang in there.

My H refers to his apartment as the "secret hideout."

What a dork.

And he refers to our house as the "upstate house."

Now he even has the kids calling it the upstate house instead of home.

There was a couple of times that I referred to our house as "home" to him and he corrected me by saying "You mean the upstate house?"

It's painful to hear how detached he is from me sometimes.

My H keeps saying "your house, your yard", etc. Thing is I can't say "our house, our yard" because technically they are mine. So I say "the house, the yard, etc."

Well, I hope my xH hasn't already decided that! I posted on someone's thread that I can't believe he has just turn his love off for me. It's got to be in there somewhere!!

Thanks for your support!!! I hope we all make it to the other side one of these days!!!

My H started using phrases like 'your mum's house' within 24 hours of leaving me. That was very hurtful. What is worse is that now that S15 lives with him he also refers to Hs flat as home.

Just saying hi, YR!

Whenever I get to your thread, I start humming "The Yellow Rose of Texas." Did you know that most Emily Dickinson poems can be sung to the tune? Very strange.

I would also like to chime in and say how much you inspire me. I want to get to normalcy, too! Thanks for sticking around and being our beacon!
