I never went away either. My H did and said it was awful his first year. Not because he was away from home but because living in the dorm was required the first year and too much partying going on and he wanted to study.

Yea, H was in a dorm and then got out into an apartment. He was in an apt when I met him and they still partied like CRAZY! No need for shoulda, woulda, coulda though.
This thread is temporarily threadjacked to bring Dar the race report...and brag... It was a rough track and double points night, drivers were eager. Two separate rollovers, no one hurt. Nephew was a racing maniac (in a good way) and drove from last to 2nd in his qualifying race and started 10th of 21 and drove to 3rd in the main event. He moved from 6th in points up to 3rd place in standings and is only 20 points out of the lead!! You thought his car was fast when you saw him, you should have seen him this time!!! Believe me! I only needed the edge of my seat but had to pay for the whole thing!!! Only 3 weeks left...fan appreciation night Aug 23, fireworks...

That's when I started going as a kid and have been addicted ever since. Even more so when nephew started racing, it's a family team. My H is on the pit crew too for both cars on the team.

My uncle (back in the '60's) used to take my cousin and I to stock car races. Heck, what else was there to do in that neck of the woods? No, really, we used to have fun.
