My Husband did the exact same thing.
One winter I had no money for oil to heat the house, and I called him to ask for some help. He told me to have the kids use more blankets at night and to stop taking so many hot showers.
An hour later he called me to let me know he was eating sushi in a fancy place in the Valley and how nice it was.
