Well, today is turning out great. Yes, it is still dark and gloomy with intermittent rain but the carpet guys showed up! And they both have their teeth (long story). They are nice and appear to know what they are doing - a rarity in cottage country.
Then the phone rang. It was Brandon calling from work. He realized he had no w/e plans and wants to come up after work. YEAH! I have not spent any time with the kids at the cottage in 2 years! I keep asking myself why I maintain the "family cottage". This just made my day. I told him the carpet was going in today and that I could use some help with moving some furniture back but that I guaranteed his bed would be back together before he arrived (actually he is getting MY bed). He asked if Josh was coming up and I wondered if that might deter him. Nope! He just knew he was in for good eating if Josh was here. I promised we'd do steak tommorrow. I am SO pleased he is coming.
Then the phone rang the second I hung up from Bran. It was Ashley. Still working out her R details but sounds in good spirits. Needed a bit of advice from her Mom! YEAH - I feel needed and loved today.
So, I'm trying to stay out of the way, help when I can, painting some baseboards so they're fresh when we put the room back together and make some food plans.
Sometimes it all comes together when we least expect it.
