I'm so stoked you and D2 had an awesome time it was long in coming you both needed it IMO ;)!!! Now don't anybody take this the wrong way...there is just something different to a dad when he has a little girl at least for me. When the D's were that young as Mikes it just did something to me hard to explain...
Don't have regrets about it man, the point is that you have your angel now that's all that matters you know that...
Man I wish I could say it gets easier without them but it don't you can't replace that everyday interaction with them just sucks...
Here is my take on the drama, you had 1 of the 2 constants in W life right now, you had D2 and she didn't like it throw in you forgot about the 2nd constant and you had a 5 alarm fire on your hands. As we have talked about my sitch in yours D2 is her crutch as are the dogs they are her only security in the world she has created for herself and you took 1 crutch for the day and the 2nd crutch you stuck in the corner not on purpose but she doesn't see it that way. She was in a tail spin and let you know it. She had to get control back and she did that with the threat and going through the boxes, that put 'her' world back into prespective.
Good on you for just going through the boxes with her, you saw that as being the only way you were going to get the peace back, you were calm and let it roll right off proud of you for defusing what could have been real ugly and nasty. As far as the locks you know she can't to it until the D is final so she will just have to find a way to deal with it until then so sad too bad.
