Well done with not getting upset! I don't blame you for getting a little depressed, but it sounds as though you handled it really well, and I'm sure your H noticed how even keel you were.
Who knows, maybe today he will ask if the invitation is still open? Just remember how great it is that you're in the place where it is OK to start inviting your H to do things, even if he doesn't always take you up on them!
