Do they ever!!! But I'm not sure it's always intentional. Sometimes they are subconsciously looking for validation that they did the right thing by trying to leave. Crazy moody WASs!

With W's little texting shenanigan, I'd finally had enough. No more mr. nice guy. Maybe that was the 180 she was looking for?

Nice talk last night, then she went to sleep. Text this morning:

"Thanks for being honest with me about your observations"

My response:
"Hope they didn't come across too harsh. If you didn't completely amaze me, I wouldn't be working so hard on this. I heard everything you said as well."

Jon,
I think you did a pretty good job. I know that if W was trying to push my buttons, it probably wouldn't take much and when I go off, it's verbal and explosive. Look at it this way, things have improved in the last few months. Now, you are showing the other side of GAL and DB which is that you are willing to set boundaries and defend them in a mature manner. I think we can sometimes forget that mature behavior doesn't mean we can't get angry. I think your text message was spot on.

Keep up the good work.

Dan

Interesting exchange today.

W called briefly, to ask "is it yahoo.com or yahoo.net?" LOL. I answered her, and asked "that's it?" She said yes, I laughed and got off.

On a whim, I texted "your voice is nice". I appreciate when she calls instead of texts, and I remember early in our separation she'd say "I just want to hear your voice. At the time I was dark.

W called while I was in a meeting, then sent a text "What's with all the compliments? They are nice but completely surprising"

I called her back, and we had a nice little talk. She said she isn't accustomed to hearing these things from me. That hurt, and I apologized. I guess I didn't do that during our M, and I've felt weird about it during the separation, trying to let her initiate all contact. So this turned out to be a 180, and it worked!
