Then he said- this isn't hard- maybe I should just take it all over and start paying the bills myself.
Now, how can you make this a pleasant experience for him.

Over the weekend we decided instead of just me doing this or just him that we would do it together. I am holding him accountable to the budget and keeping him informed of what was paid-showing him the bank balance, etc...

Did you check percentages??? How is the bill board coming??

Percentages are in line with what we are doing now....the bill board is coming along- Having it posted will hopefully help him remember what we are trying to accomplish!

Payday update- well, I think it's a miracle!! He actually did exactly what he said he would do! Deposited the check, kept 20.00 cash, brought in his paycheck stub and the depostit slip and asked me if I had paid the bills we had agreed on for this week. I did that and showed him what all I had paid. And we actually had money left over! Amazing! Now I feel like I need to make the extra money disappear into a savings account or bonds so he won't be tempted to spend it. Guess it's gonna take more than one time for me to trust him! I feel like I'm holding my breath...is he REALLY going to do this right THIS time!!??

For the first time in a LONG time- I am feeling a little hopeful. I really feel like for the first time EVER that he is trying to make changes and is serious about it.

We still have a long way to go...obviously finanaces aren't our only problem but at least we are making headway. I'm almost afraid to say I'm hopeful...

Thanks again for your suggestions!
