Back is doing much better. I thought for sure I was going to be down and out for longer. Must have been the Haldol they gave me right away before it really knotted up. That or the cheeseburgers.
May even take the cycle out for a ride. A friend that was at the party called and wants to go. Chicks dig bikes.

Del Griffith: Yes sir. Yes. Yes I do. I mean she may not look like much but she'll get you where you wanna go.
I served for at least 8 years - can't remember exactly any more. Going out on the roll-overs got kinda rough. Trying to comfort someone while the jaws was working 5 inches away. And the jaws we had didn't start so well, so we'd be out there with someone trapped trying to start the damn motor.
Brush fires can get way out of hand. I think the worst one, though, was in a field and the guys who probably set it were sitting on the roof of a nearby house laughing at us and throwing [censored]. I don't know why but that really got under my skin.
a pizza oven? Like, the big ones?
glad your back is better. What kind of bike do you have? I used to have a cycle long ago. Now I have a bicycle. Chicks dig guys in spandex - lol!
We have like a second generation "jaws and Cutter" Weighs about 85lbs. At my old volunteer station, we had just picked up the latest model. Only weighed 40 lbs, and the hydraulics were much faster. I've almost been hit a few times out on the Highways. Have some facers too. Young teens. You know.
Pizza oven is a counter-top model. I can get pizzas for cost at the bar I work at sometimes.
I have a 1999 1500cc Vulcan. First 2 yrs I owned it, I didn't get to ride it too much. Was trying to do to many other things. Its sweet. Decked out pretty nice.

Coming up on the 1 yr anniversary of the 35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis. There is a lot of buzz in the media right now about it.
What a mess. Our department was called to assist. I was home when it happened but knew we would be a department that would be called.
A lot of departments showed up that were never called. It only added to the confussion and mess. We arrived with our boat (4 of us) And our assignment was to not let any more depts. launch. We were only there for half an hour turning away depts. before we were relieved and released but what a sight it was.
It was just after we arrived that the scene went from rescue to recovery. There was so much going on.
My most vivd memory was not of amything at the bridge. Once we left the station with boat #2 in tow, I sarted dialing my gf(at the time). Not knowing what we were going to find or what kind of danger we would be plaeced in. She was at bowling so I knew she was safe. I was using my cell and I borrowed one from one of the other crew members. I kept hitting send on both but only getting "all circuits busy" I did that for 30 minutes straight maybe longer. I had my helmet in the cab with me and in it I carried a picture of her and her 3 daughters.
Thats what I remember most about the 35W bridge collapse.
Yes Donna, They really do. A girl I know wanted to find a dark secluded road so she could take her top off.

Having a restless night. Nights before I go back on shift have been like that lately. (Odd work schedule when you work 24s)
Heading into hell month. 2 anniversary dates I would love to forget. Both a day apart.
Had a lot of calls for kids this summer. Makes it hard to forget the past sometimes.
I remember last year at this time. My house was still a disaster. There wasn't a room complete. But I could see the end. 2 days here...a day there. New if I could work 16+ on it a day, I would have it done before sept. 2.5yrs of living out of boxes. 1.5yrs remodeling my piece of sh!t house.
Can't wait for the market to rebound! I'd leave tomorrow if I could sell it and break even. Too many blisters. Too much sweat.

Hot day for work. Been in the turnout gear 3 times! Already in my second set of uniforms. Going to have to run home and get another set. Think I lost 5 lbs today already.
Have to work a 36 hr shift.

Ex wife didn't think it was so funny. Change husband to wife and I could have been wearing the shirt. Now that would be funny.
jak466,
I guess she is not a fan of the truth?
Take Care,

So one of the guys I work with went hiking and camoing up in British Columbia. He came back with a picture of a warning sign they had posted at the entrance of a hiking trail. It read:
Warning:
Due to the frequency of human-bear encounters, the B.C. Fish and Wildlife Branch is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and any persons that use the out of doors in a recreational or work related function to take extra precautions while in the field.
We advise the outdoorsman to wear little noisy bells on clothing so as to give advanced warning to any bears that might be close by so you don't take them by surprise.
We also advise anyone using the out-of-doors to carry "pepper Spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.
Outdoorsmen should also be on the watch for fresh bear activity, and be able to tell the difference between black bear feces and grizzly bear feces. Black bear feces is smaller and contains berries, twigs and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear feces has bells and smells like pepper.
Hey NMD. I think it really embarresed her. I kinda felt bad about that but still thought the t-shirt was classic. LOL
