i think i would be ok with it either way- im going no matter what and my BF and her H are so loving and know our sitch....

the only thing is he doesnt have that weekend off- but may have a few days in that week before off (police schedule) so i would adjust the days.... no big deal really...i would love it if he went and we could camp on the way there or back....but also i would be happy to go alone and see my friend and her kids and H and play!
