so lets come up with what you can do today to make you happy
i think this word has a new meaning every time I write it or see it, but PATIENCE is like a mantra used in a buddhist meditation....it hurts, it is painful, it itches, it feels ok, it dulls, its ok...it hurts again....
the amount we are learning about ourselves right now through being PATIENT is probably the best lessons for life we will ever get.

hey neil, I missed out on a whole bunch of new folks while i was out on maternity leave and I appreciate you coming over to my thread.
I was reading back through some of your older threads and noticed that you don't really mention a whole lot of things you like other than your kids and wife. Those are awesome things, don't get me wrong, but what else. Think back to maybe before you met your W or when you guys were first dating... What did you do for fun. I know that was a long time ago, but humor me... Did you play any sports? Did you play video games? Did you go bowling/play pool? Did you ski/hike/surf/bike/etc...? There has to be something that at one time was fun. Figure out what that is.
On the compliment thing... i do agree with SC about it seeming like a line to get sex, but also, for me at least, 99% of the compliments that i (used to) get are generic. "you look nice/fine/good/pretty/ok..." We want to feel like you actually noticed. When we get dressed, especially when we get dressed up really nice we have a reason for each thing we chose. If i put on a nice dress and do my hair. As much as "you look pretty" is good to hear, it doesn't compare with something like " you're hair looks really pretty when you put it up like that" or something... It means you really looked at us and appreciate the work that went into the look. Keep your head up. Today can be a good day if you let it!

Lets see you take a look around and find some campgrounds out your way for me to check out. That would help me out, Neil, and give you something else to think about. Lake Erie has some pretty spots around it, I'm sure.

Niel Sorry you are having a tough day...hope you have snapped out of it by now.
I just got back from doing some grocery shopping, and that has something to do with my "backslide"...so as not to hijack your thread, I am going to post over on mine. You and UD will have to stop in.
That may be confusing for the "contest", but my posts get way to long winded sometimes and I like to keep my thoughts on my own post...use it as my journal.

There's a KLA in Westfield, right on route 5 along the lake shore. There is a camp site on Lake Chautauqua, but i can't remember the name off the top of my head...

just me? or with her? I played soccer all my life..don't get to too much now...i'm in an adult league on sundays..missed this weekend because of her needing a helping hand. Read...... The odd thing is that in the last couple of days, i've been trying to think of those things too.... and i'm like...what did I do for fun? I used to go to our land (we called it "the country") and build my treehouse, or run around with my brothers. Alas, we don't own it anymore. Plastic models..i've got a couple coming in the mail.....

i got that today. I really, finally, understood that. I got a sincere thank you when i complimented the color. Would it be wrong to try and work it into something everyday? I don't want to seem pushy...
thanks for writing back to me....

yep you are... she fell in love with that guy in the first place. He just got covered up by the layers of life: kids and work and bills and stress... Now's your chance to clean up a bit!
